Ingredients:
- 1 block of firm tofu (pressed and cubed)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for crispy tofu)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 small onion (sliced)
- 1 bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 carrot (julienned)
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp stir-fry sauce or teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
- Sesame seeds and green onions (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the tofu: Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into cubes. Toss the cubes in soy sauce, and if you want them crispy, coat with cornstarch.
- Cook the tofu: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tofu from the pan and set it aside.
- Stir-fry veggies: In the same pan, heat the remaining oil. Add garlic, ginger, and onions, sauté for about 2 minutes. Then, add bell pepper, carrots, and broccoli. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
- Add tofu and sauce: Return the cooked tofu to the pan, pour in your favorite stir-fry or teriyaki sauce, and mix everything together. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
